sun through treesWharncliffe Trees and Woodlands Consultancy is owned by Ian Kennedy. Ian graduated from the University of Aberdeen in the late 1990s with a BSc (Hons) in Forestry with Arboriculture and Amenity Forestry and has worked in the care and management of trees and woodlands since then. This includes work with protected trees, trees in relation to development, visual tree hazard assessment and considerable experience of woodland management where multiple aims and objectives apply.

Awards and membership of professional bodies

A member of the Arboricultural Association since 2001, his application to become a professional member in 2008 fulfilled the necessary requirements and he was subsequently accepted as a professional member of the Association (MArborA).

Ian successfully attained the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection certificate in 2006, has been a personal member of the Royal Forestry Society since 2008 and was admitted as a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (MICFor) in January 2012.
